Office Visit - Acupuncture

By Appointment only

BEFORE TREATMENT

Have a little food in your stomach.

It is not recommended to have an acupuncture treatment if you are very hungry or extremely tired. Refrain from using drugs or alcohol for at least several hours before a treatment.

Wear loose clothing

During an acupuncture treatment, loose clothing allows greater comfort and easier access to acupuncture points.

Treatment Precaution

If you have a bleeding disorder or are on blood thinning medications, you should inform your acupuncturist before undergoing treatment.

If you are pregnant or have a pacemaker, tell the acupuncturist so that appropriate herbs and acu-points will be chosen.

FIRST AND FOLLOW UP VISITS
The first visit includes the Four Examinations:
Looking: Observation of the Spirit, Body, Demeanour, Head and Face, Eyes, Skin, Tongue and color.
Listening: Listening to the sound and pitch of the voice, cough, breathing, and the information the individual shares.
Asking: Inquiring the history of the problem and how your daily life is being affected.
Palpating: Palpating the pulses on the radial artery near the wrist.

The first session takes about 90 minutes.
The follow up visit takes about 45 to 60 minutes.

*You may feel more tired than usual after you've experienced the first treatment or haven't had a treatment in a long time.
